Welcome to mikestunes.com!
And thank you for visiting my website.
The chances are that you've come here because you're curious about the music I write for Jacquie Lawson's e-cards. If you're a fan of the e-cards, then you'll already know my modus operandi: each card features either an original composition or an arrangement of a well-known work by a "proper" composer, mostly from the classical repertoire. I do occasionally foray into other genres, although my exploration of the musical jungle so far has been limited to brass band, light jazz, ragtime and other fairly conservative forms. I fear that hip-hop and suchlike may be a step too far for JL (or indeed for me)!
Many of the fans of jacquielawson.com have asked me over the years if they could purchase recordings of my compositions, and I plan to make that possible via this website. And for anyone interested in the classical (and other) music which I've used in my arrangements, I'll be taking the opportunity to provide details of the music, with links to recommended recordings and further listening.
If you've enjoyed the music I write for JL, you may also like The Rat-Catcher, a musical I wrote a few years ago. It's intended for performance by children, and any music teachers amongst you may be interested to purchase a score and even to put on a performance!
At the moment the site is still waiting for me to find time to do the programming and so forth — but I'm hoping to have it completed by the end of October, so please come back soon!

The Circus is coming! If you've been keeping an eye on the JL Newsletters and on the Behind the Scenes page then you'll know that there's something new coming and it's circus-related! Can't tell you much more except that I have been having a LOT of fun with my new electronic Carousel and Calliope instruments! And I've been inspired by Sousa to write some fun military band marches, which will appear on this site very soon.
